Hi, I'm Claire.

I'm a vocalist and voice teacher with a background in classical vocal performance and extensive experience teaching singers online. I studied vocal performance at Seoul National University and completed my master's degree in classical voice at Boston University.

My approach

There is no single exercise that works for every voice.

My classical training gave me a strong technical foundation, but teaching many different singers showed me something equally important: some students understand a concept immediately through sound. Others need a physical sensation, a visual image, a movement, or a completely different explanation.

That's why my teaching is highly individualized. During a lesson, we may experiment with several approaches until we find the one that helps your voice respond naturally.

Ever been told…

  • "Just support more."
  • "Open your mouth."
  • "Relax."
  • "Use more breath."

…but never shown exactly how? I especially enjoy working with those singers. I want you to leave a lesson understanding not only what improved, but also how to recreate it by yourself.

I work with students internationally through online lessons and have taught singers across different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels.

Teaching Philosophy

You should understand your own voice.

My goal is not to make students dependent on weekly lessons forever. Technique becomes valuable when you can actually use it when I'm not there.

A good lesson gradually teaches you how to:

  • Recognize your own vocal habits
  • Identify unnecessary tension
  • Troubleshoot problems & warm up effectively
  • Choose useful exercises & practice efficiently
  • Prepare repertoire independently
